About Rick and Keri
Rick Murdock and Keri Henderson decided to join forces and put a name to what they enjoy. They spend so much time working with exotic and domestic wood, they thought it was time for everyone to have an opportunity to own some of
their creations. To give you, that opportunity, to find that one special unique gift for yourself or a loved one.
Have you ever been so frustrated because you can't find a gift for that hard to buy for person. That one person who has everything? Well, Keri and Rick never have that problem, they always give an exotic wood creation. So they wanted to solve that type of problem for you, a solution for those frustrating gift giving, unwanted moments.
She and Rick developed RK SweetWood, LLC. The BEST way to solve all your gift giving problems. Knowing how important gifts are, Rick and Keri are sharing the solution, making it easy on everyone. They have opened the doors, giving everyone an opportunity to have an RK SweetWood Experience.
Even though RK Sweetwood LLC just received the name, RK Sweetwood has actually been around for about 8 to 9 years. That is how long Rick and Keri have been talking about putting a real name to what they love and enjoy. All the hard work, devotion and excitement has finally made it to reality.
Rick Murdock was raised in San Diego California, spent 10 years in June Lake California, then moved to Reno Nevada. He has been a licensed electrician for 30 plus years and working with wood for 45 years. He recently married Keri Henderson a native to Reno Nevada. She grew up in Pleasant Valley, graduated from Bishop Manogue Catholic High School, then went on to college and has been in the medical field for 28 years. She spent 4 years in Las Vegas but felt her heart belongs in Reno. She is an active member of the National Association of Professional Women. Her current focus is the exposure needs of RKSW. She grew up on horses, did the rodeo scene, and she plans to have horses again someday. She was married on 8-8-08 for the first time. Rick and Keri now have 3 grown girls and a 9 year old little girl. They live in Northwest Reno area. With their very busy schedules, they make spending quality time together and the family a priority.
Rick has been working with wood since he was a young boy. He helped his father create numerous items throughout the years. One could always find he and his father working together out in the shop building and turning something. With much assistance from Rick Sr. they built, to perfection, a hydroplane racing boat at the age 5. He turned his first bowl on a lathe when he was 11 in wood shop class. Needless to say, he passed that class with flying colors. He graduated from Santana High School, California and went on to study electrical. After living in June Lake, he ventured to Reno Nevada and continued electrical work
while still working with wood.
Ever since, it has been non-stop. Turning, building, sanding, finishing, designing yet enjoying each and every one of his projects ranging from furniture, grand father clocks, beds, tools, tables, toys, signs, bowls, all the way to pepper mills, stemware, wine stoppers, jewelry, a harmonica, whistles and even a guitar. The simplest to the most complicated task, he loves doing them all. It seems over the years, the more complex the item is the more driven he is in doing something different and unique.
Now we can share with you.
